Buckaroo acquires payment service provider Sisow

Utrecht, 10 December 2020 - Buckaroo acquires payment service provider Sisow. This has been agreed upon by both parties earlier this month. With Sisow having over 14,000 customers in the Dutch and Belgian market, Buckaroo regards the acquisition as a strategic move to strengthen its position in the SME market.  

The acquisition of Sisow is subject to the approval of The Nederlandsche Bank (DNB, the Dutch central bank). A decision regarding the acquistion is expected in the first quarter of 2021. Thereafter, Sisow will be carrying the brand name ‘Sisow by Buckaroo’. Buckaroo will take on the Sisow employees, who will continue to work in the Helmond office.

Sisow was founded in 2010 by current CEO Ruud Bakens and has become a key actor in the SME market. Their original key product was a digital invoice management system; a complete package to manage invoices. This included the option to make online payments via iDEAL. After the introduction/implementation of iDEAL, the idea emerged to offer this, transparently, to online shops as well. This resulted in a successful iDEAL link, which was gradually expanded with international payment methods such as Visa, MasterCard and Bancontact.
